I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas day and this finds you relaxed and refreshed! When I was at school I have to admit I hated Languages, I struggled with English so having to learn French and German was just struggle after struggle. However when I met my wife the fact she speaks 5 different languages means I had to learn pretty quick. Little did I know at that time that I would be benefiting in my online activities as I learned!

November and December are busy times if you are in internet marketing, you have the build up to Christmas then the January sales to stay on top of but if you are lucky enough to speak Spanish you have the joys of Reyes to look forward to as well. The Spanish don’t exchange gifts until the 6th of January when the three Kings were supposed to have visited.

Two years ago I started to look at the fact that there were different days for exchanging gifts around the world. Since that time I have where possible targeted the build up to that event. For example at the moment while many markets (America and the UK) are going wild on their sales I am putting more time into the Reyes festival as it is the day when the gifts are exchanged in Spain.

A while ago I wrote a post about event based marketing and making sure you are ahead of the game. What I normally do is have Outlook installed with the public holidays of all major countries around the world that have their different celebrations. This normally means that you can plan in advance and ensure that you benefit from the markets.
