Every now and again you write something or come across something that suddenly goes mental!

Yesterday we told you about the event based niche that we had discovered and were doing very nicely from in the past few weeks! Well yesterday afternoon, evening and this morning the traffic to that site went crazy, the clicks through to the merchant went completely out of this world. However NO SALES!

What did we do wrong? Nothing! Why no sales? The merchant has sold out of the item that is being promoted! England Rugby Shirts have almost sold out completely around the whole country and we can’t find another supplier who can knock up an affiliate deal in time to get the shirts delivered in time for the Final on Saturday.

So we did almost everything right. The problem was that we did not have a backup plan should this happen. Why did we not have a backup plan? We had no idea that we would hit the volumes that we did and absolutely no idea that were going to hit the jackpot.

So how do we stop this in the future? Easy. We will have a plan B for anything that might go into this situation! Have another supplier, an alternative route for traffic the works. Basically this way there is no way that we will miss the boat.

On this occasion there was a lack of supply which caused the problem but it is always good to have a fall back!
